My first novel, Heaven Sent for Christmas, introduced Nick and Maddie’s story. As the narrative grew, I realized it needed a deeper beginning. Thus, Savannah’s story emerged as the starting point for the current Devereaux generation.
With each new chapter, more characters and stories unfolded. Not only did the Devereaux siblings come to life, but so did their parents, grandparents, and Jacques Devereaux, the original builder of Heaven Sent. Sweetheart Falls itself began to pulse with life, revealing fifty years of marriage at Petals and Pages bookstore and florist, the tales of Anne-Marie, the local librarian, and Abigail Meiselas, the coffee shop owner.
As I continue to edit those earlier novels, the stories of so many more town residents beckon to be told. For now, here is the Devereaux Family Tree, the heart of Sweetheart Falls.
